Southern Star Solar Energy Center
The Southern Star Solar Energy Center is a proposed 300 megawatt (MW) solar energy and battery power generation facility in Pueblo County, Colorado, and will be Invenergy’s first solar project in the state.
The Southern Star Solar Energy Center is an opportunity to boost the local economy of Pueblo County and create jobs, all while generating clean, American-made energy to meet Colorado's growing electricity demand.
The project is targeted to begin operating in 2027.
At peak construction, the Southern Star Solar Energy Center is expected to employ as many as 450 people. After construction, the project will employ up to 14 additional full-time operations and maintenance (O&M) staff. |
The Southern Star Solar Energy Center will support Pueblo County through over $22 million in local tax revenue, helping fund essential services for the community.
It will also bring in approximately $45.9 million in land costs and lease payments, and wages and benefits throughout the life of the project. |
