Invenergy’s Southern Star Solar Energy Center joined the Pueblo Economic Development Corporation (PEDCO), a nonprofit organization working to retain and expand jobs in Pueblo County, Colorado. PEDCO funds capital projects and equipment purchase for new and expanding businesses, projecting over $9.4 billion in salaries from new jobs. The organization also works to host events for community members to network and learn more about county resources and initiatives.
Sharing in the vision of positive local economic development, Invenergy’s proposed Southern Star Solar Energy Center is an opportunity to boost the local economy through the creation of up to 450 construction jobs and 14 additional long-term O&M jobs. With a commitment to the betterment of Pueblo County, the Southern Star Energy Center will bring positive economic and social benefits, all while providing clean home-grown energy to Colorado residents.
